The Space

Heather offers therapy in two primary locations: from her shared office space at Paddler's Cove (300 Prince Albert Road) and from her home. When taking virtual clients from home, you may see her cat, Bru, come on video!

Undercurrent Counselling is located in Punamu'kwati'jk, meaning 'at the tomcod place,' currently known as Dartmouth. Specifically, the building is on the banks of Panuk, meaning 'at the opening,' currently known as Lake Banook. You can find more place names and their meanings here.

Heather is grateful to live and work on Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaw, and strives to continue learning how to decolonize her practice.

Directions for finding the office:

- Face Paddler's Cove (300 Prince Albert Road) from the road.

- Head down along the left side of the building to park or walk.

- Find a set of four white pillars holding up an overhang of the building.
- Go through the first set of doors under the pillars to find a staircase. Head up the stairs.

- Go through the first door on your right at the top of the stairs-- there should be a couch and a waiting room setup where you can get comfortable until your therapist comes out to greet you!

- Optional: Check-in on the Jane app or website so your therapist knows you've arrived!
